laundry options at Zer0

Here at Zer0 we have lots of different options for doing your laundry! All that choice might seem daunting, so we're here to help you decide which is best for you!

1. laundry liquid

Most people's go-to laundry detergent is our laundry liquid!

The brand we use is Miniml, who offer a totally closed-loop system: they deliver all products to us in 20L drums which we return to them once empty. They then wash, sterilise and re-fill these so no new waste is created!

To buy this in store, we offer pre-packaged 500ml glass bottles for £5.50. Alternatively, you can bring in your own container to refill! A 500ml refill costs approximately £2.65*

To use, pour straight into your machine's dispenser. For a light load use 30ml; a medium load 40ml; and a heavy load 50ml.

500ml of laundry liquid can last you 17 washes at a cost of 16p per wash

All Miniml products are totally vegan and cruelty free, and made in Britain.

The laundry liquid is also:
Free from: VOC’s, chlorine bleaches, solvents, lanoline, sulphates, parabens and phosphates.
Safe for septic tanks if used as directed.
Effective in both hard and soft water.

2. washing powder

Another common choice is washing powder. We are proud to stock bio-D non-bio washing powder - shop here

We sell this pre-packaged in either 1kg (£6) or 2kg (£11) bags. Depending on the hardness of your water (see below), you may need to use between 30 and and 100g per wash, meaning a 2kg bag can last you up to 67 washes at a cost of 16p per wash.

It is vegan, cruelty free, and suitable for septic tanks.

3. laundry eggs

Laundry eggs are currently taking the world by storm, and it's easy to see why!

Super easy to use - all you need to do is pop the egg in the drum with your clothing. One EcoEgg laundry egg can last 70 washes, and being priced at £10, makes them very economical at just 14p per wash. They are also designed to replace detergent and fabric softener, saving you even more money that you would be spending on fabric conditioner.

Once the pellets have dissolved, you can purchase refills for £5 which last 50 washes - just 10p per wash!

Although not 100% plastic-free (the egg itself is made of plastic), this is guaranteed to last 10 years - meaning it reduces single-use plastic.

It comes in 3 scents: unfragranced, Spring Blossom and Linen, with the unfragranced being certified by Allergy UK. Check out the full range here

It's also gentle on the skin, having been dermatalogically tested and come out as rated Excellent.

Vegan, cruelty free, and no enzymes, chlorine bleach, phosphates, SLE/SLES, palm oil or microplastics

4. laundry sheets

Laundry sheets are another fairly new, innovative way of doing your clothes washing. And no one is more innovative than Mack.

Aptly named No Bullsheet laundry sheets, Mack aim to be super transparent and hassle free with their ingredients and instructions.

The sheets are concentrated and completely biodegradable: they dissolve in 60 seconds and work in temperatures as low as 1°C.

They are suitable for sensitive skin, hard or soft water, and contain no phosphates or parabens

Ocean Breeze scented, they come in a box of 30 sheets for £7. To use, simply place a sheet on top of your laundry. For laundry over 6kg, it's recommended to use 2 sheets. This comes to as little as 23p per wash.

Mack products are vegan and cruelty free, and as with all our products, are a forward-thinking brand with sustainability at their core. If you haven't heard of them or seen their other stuff, check out the range here!

so, which to choose?

If price is your main factor, Eco Eggs are the way to go, as these are by far the cheapest to use, especially when you consider that you don't need fabric conditioner!

If you have very senstive skin, Bio-D washing powder comes out on top.

If you usually use a laundry liquid and would like to keep refilling your bottle, you can't go wrong with Miniml.

And if you're looking for something new, different, and innovative to try, Mack sheets are your best bet!

Ultimately, the choice is yours, but you can rest assured that all of our clothes washing products are vegan, cruelty free, and kind to your clothes, skin, and the planet!
