Egyptian Whole Loofah

An Egyptian loofah sponge comes from the fibrous seed pod of the luffa plant, which is a member of the cucurbit family, including gourds, pumpkins, and cucumbers. The luffa plant grows as a flowering annual vine, producing cylindrical green fruits that develop into seed pods filled with intertwined cellulose fibres.

Once fully matured, loofahs become reasonably tough, making them perfect for exfoliating, cleaning hard surfaces, and even painting! Their subtle but firm consistency makes them a wonderful addition to soap making. Combining an Egyptian loofah sponge with soap gives it extra character and enhances the benefits of a self-care routine.
